Definition

  • Extra virgin olive oil obtained from the fruits of the Biancolilla, Nocellara del Belice and Cerasuola varieties of olive trees, present in the groves alone or jointly for at least 90 percent. Other varieties, such as Ogliarola Messinese, Giarraffa and Santagatese, may compete for no more than the remaining 10 percent.
