Title

Pan-Latin Occupational Lung Diseases Vocabulary

Description

Occupational lung diseases are disorders of the respiratory system caused by inhalation or exposure to pathogens of any kind present in the environment in which workers perform their daily tasks. The recognition of the need to protect the health of individuals in their working environment led to the development of this field of medicine, which studies lung diseases that originate in the workplace. The Pan-Latin Occupational Lung Diseases Vocabulary was developed within the Pan-Latin Terminology Network (REALITER), in collaboration with the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF). The resource contains terms in seven Romance languages (French, Catalan, Spanish, Galician, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian) and in English. In the case of Spanish, the equivalents used in Mexico are also included. For the Portuguese language, both the Portuguese of Portugal and Brazil are considered. The definitions are provided in French.
